Youngblood has been involved with the caring for and training of dogs, for as long as he can remember. Always surrounded by dogs throughout his life, whether it be his own dog or a stray he would tend to, he formed an ongoing respect and affinity for dogs that remains with him today.

His formal knowledge of dog training began shortly after acquiring a job at the San Francisco SPCA 1995. There he met Ivan Balabanov, one of the most accomplished dog trainers in the United States. For four years he apprenticed and trained under Ivan. While apprenticing with Ivan, Youngblood acquired hands on experience in not just basic training techniques, but how to clearly communicate and motivate a dog to get desired results. This training approach is not based on antiquated ideas such as the owner needing to be alpha or "the leader of the pack", or so called "all positive" methods, but on a balanced approach grounded in learning theory. Because of this Youngblood's training technique isn't a one size fits all solution. He takes into account many things, such as the age of the dog, the dog's breed, it's temperament and in the case of rescued dogs, past experience. Youngblood also considers the owners level of experience and any time constraints the owner may have. Youngblood always tries to give realistic training programs that fits around the owners capabilities and daily schedule.

With over 10 years of professional experience and his patient teaching ability, Youngblood has helped hundreds of dog owners in the Bay Area not just resolve their dog's behavior problems but offered insight into the causes of the dog's behavior problem. In addition to pet dog training Youngblood was also active in the dog sport of Schutzhund, where he had coached dog/handler teams to compete at regional and national events. Youngblood has also appeared on Animal Planet, featured in national magazines such as Cookie and Wired Magazine and was voted Best Dog Walker /Trainer in the Bay Area by the SF Weekly.
